Season of Gratitude

During the holiday season it can be very easy to get caught up in the retail of it all! And as nice as that can be, we like to take time during the holidays to connect with loved ones, reflect on the past year’s accomplishments and learning’s, set goals for the new year, and take time to rejuvenate! We want our Sportivo family to have time to do last minute shopping, wrap presents, bake goodies, or just enjoy family and friends, so we will be closing at 2pm today and will be closed on Christmas day. We wish you a very festive holiday season and look forward to many more encounters with you in the new year. We will be closing at 2pm on New Year’s Eve, but will be open our regular hours on New Year’s Day. Thank you for visiting our blog and for your support of our local, independent, and family business!

A little bit about Becky…

She grew up in Central Illinois in swirls of flour and sugar, baking muffins and reading her parents’ cookbooks.

After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Nutritional Science, she moved to San Francisco and took a desk job. But there was something missing; she wasn’t baking.

About a year later, she left the desk and became a pastry chef to pursue her passion. On most days, you can find Becky tinkering in the Be. Baking kitchen perfecting recipes and developing fun flavor combinations that are deliciously addictive.

The Be. Baking line of goodies is dedicated to using the finest ingredients possible, and takes a playful approach to baking – perhaps by introducing savory spices into sweet cookies or making savory versions of sweet old favorites. An emphasis on local, seasonal and organic ingredients is obvious in every scrumptious mouthful.
